2021-22 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

I?m not sure which way I?d lean to be honest, that?s why I brought this up to see other thoughts.

Part of me saw that TB won a cup essentially without stamkos at all and I dunno, that kinda took some shine off for me. Is that fair? Probably not.

Then again, JT has won nothing at all. I just think it?s an interesting what if.

And I?m talking just straight 1-1 here, because. As you mentioned, the butterfly effect scenarios can get out of hand quickly.

13 in 18, 18 in 26, 16 in 17, 18 in 23.

He has four good runs under his belt.  But then JT has 30 points in 35 playoff games so if given the opportunity could have matched the performance.  It's hard to hold one against the other.  Money being equal I think I lean JT but 8.5 vs. 11 really pushes it over the edge.

I think it's fair to say Stamkos never takes $8.5mil here. Think most "reports" suggested the Leafs were offering $10.5-11mil.

I think Hedman is by far the most important player on Tampa.  When he was out and/or injured (I can't remember), they lost to columbus.  When he's back they win.

He wouldn't be playing here for 8.5. Word was he wanted to be the highest paid player in the league. At the time is was Toews and Kane. Both were 10.5 hits and 13.8 in salary. Leafs offered 11x7 for him but it wasn't enough. Stamkos would made 250K/ year more in T Bay at 8.5M if he took that 11M. Leafs would have had to go to 11.5 to equal it.

They def missed Hedman. Their stars also didn't show up. Point, Stamkos and Kucherov did nothing in those playoffs. Well Kucherov got himself a 1 game suspension and missed game 3.
CBJ also had a pretty good team but T Bay still should have beat them.

Very sad for Kase. I hope he can get over this latest concussion and I hope he doesn?t suffer any long term effects from it.

Honestly if retirement is his best option for his long term health I hope he recognises it and the I suspect the Leafs will look after him if so

I kept hoping that this was just like a neck thing or something because the team took so long to officially diagnose it publicly. I don't see how he returns this season, and yeah even beyond that he has a hell of a decision to make this summer.

Very unfortunate for Kase.  I'm very concerned for him.  I hope he takes care of himself and stays off the ice, assuming that is what the doctors recommend.

A Habs fan posted on twitter that he and his son were kicked out the game on Saturday because Suzuki gave them one of his sticks and that they weren't allowed to have it so they were asked to leave and instead of everybody immediately calling bullcrap on that story dummies actually believed him. Glad MLSE set the record straight here:

These are collectively not good at all.  Campbell is looking as fragile as Mrazek.

Just read Keefe's comments.  He said he is "hopeful or expecting" Muzzin will be back shortly.  Errrrr that is some fudginess in there.

I wouldn't go that far.  Campbell has played in more games this season than Mrazek's last 2 seasons combined.

I just get very nervous about our goaltending.  It is precarious, so to speak.

I hear ya, we can only hope Jack holds up through the playoffs.  I want to be looking back at this conversation in June and saying "Zanzibar, you crazy beautiful FOOL you!  I could kiss you right now!"

I honestly think he should just retire. He just seems susceptible to these injuries unfortunately...

Ooh ... you're making me feel a bit flushed.
