Wickenheiser will oversee the development camp, the first time many will be able to observe her work with prospects since she was named the Leafs senior director of player development in May.
When she was hired, she promised brutal honesty.
?I don?t sugarcoat things. If something needs to be said to a player, I?m not afraid to say it, which I think benefits the player down the road,? Wickenheiser said in May.
If she does opt to take more of a tough-love approach, I?m curious to see how that translates on the ice, if at all. Former director of player development Scott Pellerin also favoured constant communication with players, and many prospects The Athletic spoke to about Pellerin said he was often heavy on positivity to build confidence.

I'm mostly seeing jabs that they're going to finally experience the second round of something.
According to several sources, Toronto winger Ilya Mikheyev asked for a trade following the 2020-21 season. But, what is important to the story is that the Maple Leafs made it clear they do not want to accommodate this request. With Zach Hyman and Joe Thornton gone from the left wing, the organization told Mikheyev it considers him a key part of their team and are counting on him to have a big year.
Neither GM Kyle Dubas nor agent Dan Milstein were willing to comment. At issue appears to be role and ice-time, heading into the final year of his contract. His 14:13 per game last season was eighth among Toronto forwards.
Haha. Trade Campbell immediately lol. Seeing he's strictly a defensive player I'd guess he'd like to be given a chance at a little more offence. I always wanted to see him get a chance on the PP. He did put up decent numbers in the KHL and in his first year here before the injury. Can't really blame him but we'll see what they do.herman said:https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/sabres-re-engage-interested-teams-meeting-eichels-representatives/

This better not be about losing his nickname
