I don?t get what Clifford brings to the table other than 8 mins of wasted ice time.

More than Ritchie does in 10 minutes, at least based off what we've seen so far this season. I thought Clifford played fine in the games he was in.

Alright. I guess I have to pay better attention because he just struck me as useless.

I'm with you. I'm not a fan of  Clifford at all. Ritchie is effective screening in PP2.

That was an unbelivable save.

Also anyone remembers when Don Cherry went on a rant rage that the Leafs took Nylander and not Ritchie ?

Yep, it was referenced recently when Ritchie came to the Leafs. Scary that there are so many people who think like Don Cherry that Ritchie was better than Nylander primarily due to size and nationality of being Canadian.  Notice I didn't say birthplace since they're both born in CANADA! HEYOOOO GOOD OLD CANADIAN BOY WILLY NYLANDER!

It won't change peoples thoughts on the trade, which is understandable, but at least Kerfoot's having a solid season. 24 points in 33 games, on pace for 59 points. 20 of those points are at 5-on-5 (virtually zero PP time), which is a pretty crazy ratio. He's currently 2nd on the team in 5-on-5 points, just 1 behind Tavares. Also one of the teams top penalty killers.

He's on a bit of a bender right now with 8 points in his last 3 games so those offensive stats a bit boosted because of that. I doubt he hits 60 points and he'll certainly get passed by at least a couple players in 5-on-5 scoring by the end of the season, but he's still been a solid complimentary player for the top-6.

I know you can?t really do it this way but I do anyway.  Kadri initially nixed a trade to a Calgary that centered around Brodie.  If Kadri never gets traded we probably can?t sign Brodie so Kerfoot/Brodie is an okay consolation prize

(Edit: I forgot Kampf)

I mean, imagine:

Bunting - Matthews - Kase
Mikheyev - Tavares - Nylander
Engvall - Kadri - Marner
Simmons - Kampf - Spezza

Darn there's no cap room for Ritchie, but I think we could survive that blow.

Speaking of Mrazek, I'm assuming he gets a start out west this week, right?

Keefe already said he'll get a start in the B2B, probably against Arizona. But it sure sounds like they plan on playing Campbell as much as humanly possible, which regardless of how well he's been this season doesn't seem like the best idea.

I like to think that they'll be reasonable here...like I know they had a 2 week or so break there at Christmas, but you also don't sign a $3.8m goalie to play Hutchinson minutes.
