2021 Marlies Thread

What's the current take on Ho-Sang?  His numbers don't really jump off the page.

28 points in 38 AHL games.  A somewhat disappointing Olympics (coach didn't seem to trust him over more veteran players).  I'm really just not seeing an avenue to the NHL next year unless he gets lucky as the 13th forward.

It just doesn?t look like he?s quite good enough for the NHL.  If he wants to be a scorer in the NHL those numbers need to be closer to a point per game.

He?s definitely not cracking the roster of a good team, but a bottom of the barrel team like Arizona? Maybe.

Yeah sorry I had my Leafs blinders on.  Meant he had no shot with the Leafs.

From the games I've seen him play, his talent is almost too good for his teammates if that makes sense. I've seen him make these great passes that teammates can't handle. I think with the right linemates he can be a decent NHLer. I can see the Leafs or another team signing him and if it's at the right dollar they can simply bury it if need be.

Holmberg's already signed too (was loaned out to Sweden this season) so they could just recall him if both sides think it's a good idea.

Just reading an update on PPP about the Marlies and really found it lacking on a lot of levels.  It mentions that Christopoulos is gone as back up goalie, but not if Woll is better now.  Who is going to back up Hutch for the playoff run?
Also mentions that Ovchinnikov has had a fantastic debut with 2 goals in his first few games but there is little to no information on which of our other draft picks or any of them will be joining the team.  What about Holmberg, Rindall,  Kokkonen,  Topi or Hirvonen?  They have 8 games to go and are not a playoff lock by any means.

Good news, he should be helpful to the playoff push.  Hope he thrives over here.  Hope Kokkenen and some of the others follow.
