2021 Marlies Thread

You know I am starting to think that SDA may actually make the big squad at some point. The guy is an amazing passer and see's the ice with a unique vision.  Also seems to be getting taller and his face is maturing from the 7 year old we drafted.  Nice see him and Nick together on the Leafs one day soon.

The crazy thing is the big squad is only two to three injuries away from this being a possibility although no one is wishing to rush things to much.

True. I think we will definitely see Robertson before the end of the year.

SDA has looked pretty good in this 4 games with the Marlies. Anyone know if there?s any chance Hallander will return from his loan? He?d be a big boost for the Marlies.

Dubas said last month that he and Malgin would likely be coming back once their European seasons were over. Both of them are just starting playoffs there.

Both those players would be huge additions for the Marlies. I?m more excited for Hallander however, I see Malgin as another Petan.

I don't think another Petan would necessarily be a bad thing for the Marlies. He'd probably immediately become one of their best players.

I was going to say Malgin would be a good replacement for Robertson if he's not longer eligible to play for the Marlies... but with another 4 week shutdown here in Ontario I wonder if that puts to bed any idea of the OHL having a season.

Switzerland isn't the best league in the world but he led his team in goals, assists and points.  Was PPG over there.  He's a good addition to the Marlies and nice as a depth piece for the Leafs if they run into injuries on a playoff run.

Hallander didn't really have the best season in the SHL.  His stats from last year to this year were basically the same.  So his offensive game hasn't pushed forward that much but I'm interested in seeing his game in North America.

Ian Scott got the start this afternoon for the Marlies, making it the first game he's played in since May 21, 2019.

He gave up 4 goals on 28 shots in a 4-3 loss. Sounded like a pretty uninspiring effort from the Marlies today though. Either way nice to see him finally playing again.

Just saw that. Glad he finally played a game. Marlies aren't good.

What a long road for him to get back. I hope he can somehow make a career for himself.
