The only time Bergman grows weary is when asked about Tuukka Rask, who the Leafs drafted 21st in 2005. Bergman led the charge to draft Rask, but the goalie was traded a year later and went on to win the Stanley Cup and the Vezina Trophy with the Boston Bruins.

?That?s so sad,? Bergman said after heavily exhaling. ?We?ve been looking for a goalie for all those years afterward. It?s unbelievable.?

I want to throw a garbage can at someone, holy forkin' shirtballs

Vezina sure, but Rask had little to do with that Bruins cup win.

Rask played exactly 0 seconds in their Cup run playoffs.

I'm excited for some 7pm GMT face offs

I'm so happy for you. :)

I actually really wanted to hop over to Stockholm for the games, but sadly they made the ticket prices ridiculously expensive, and it?s an expensive city to visit, which I?ve visited already a couple of times. And it?s getting close to Christmas.

Maybe next time?

Enjoy the game times Arn.

The day Luke Prokop shook the hockey world by coming out, he needed to get away.

And stop looking at his constantly buzzing phone.

It was July 21, 2021, and the right-shot defenseman had just become the first openly gay hockey player under an NHL contract. The Nashville Predators? No. 73 pick in the 2020 draft was just 19 years old and hadn?t even turned pro yet. He didn?t know how it would impact his future. His nerves were fried.

But one text message was impossible to ignore. He didn?t recognize the number but certainly knew the name.

?Hey, it?s Auston Matthews. I wanted to congratulate you. I look forward to sharing the ice with you someday.?

Can someone announce a 5 to 8 years 10.088 mi for Nylander in the next couple of days?
I'm hoping they announce it after Sunday's game.

If they are going to do it, after the 2nd game probably makes the most sense. You announce it before the game and it's a media distraction (not that Nylander cares) but how great would that be if the Leafs come away with 4 points and Nylander locked up (I'm still concerned about how that works beyond this year but oh well I love the player and it'd suck to see him in another jersey)

I'm sure someone can dig up the stats but I'm pretty sure the Leafs record while wearing the Salming patch is pretty stellar

This guy had to do the flight, jet lag, practices, press time, family time, signing autographs for hours, helping his teammates get comfortable with the local fare, and sitting down for a daytime talkshow?! And scoring game tying and winning goals. (Hey that?s the guy from Prison Break/John Wick2)

Just need him to do one more little autograph before flying back please.

With 10 games played Lagesson is going to require waivers again if/when he's reassigned to the Marlies. I think he's basically blown past any expectations people had for him this season and unless his play drops like a rock at some point I'd be pretty surprised to see him clear again this season. Obviously with injuries and stuff it might not even come to that but something to keep in mind.
