Well, it's news. Nice resume but I can't say he gave me much reason to miss him.

x2. I can't see anywhere where he has proved his worth. And no, I'm nowhere near saying he is the reason for Reimer's ascension. If Reimer
lit the world on fire then I'd be willing to say Allaire is the reason. The fact is is that our goaltending has been underwhelming for years even with a poor defensive system.

So if another goaltending coach can't salvage Reimer or Scrivens at what point do we say it's halfway the player's fault and partially in front of a poor defensive system? I for one will be watching Jonas very closely in Detroit to make that judgment.

With #Leafs goal coach Allaire on way out my bet is Curtis Joseph will be next goalie coach. Can anyone think of better guy who's available?

That's kind of how I read it given that they have history already. If things weren't working out to begin with, I suppose it could have been the straw that broke the camel's back.
Maybe that is part of the reson Allaire left the Ducks and came to Toronto -- maybe he did not like working with Carlyle.
lamajama said:I would say it would take most of a season to make that judgment. My issue with Allaire stems from Toskala - and that's primarily due to the fact that Toskala was, at one point anyway, a decent goalie and it appeared to me as an outsider that Allaire was trying to take Toskala and change him into a different style completely - and to do that to a guy who has a certain style for 20+ years is pretty difficult. I do believe that Gus will do far better in Detroit - partially because of the team and because he will not be inundated with pressure as in Toronto.
