JVR out with Back Spasms.  Sorry but in this day and age with excellent chiropracters, massage treatments including acupuncture, sonic etc. they should be able to get someone back to normal almost immeditaly unless there is underlying structural damage.

What med school did you attend again?

Doctor says he needs a backiotomy.

Sir smokealot was having a bad day

Doesn't that sort of have a self-defeating logic though? If these things were easy to fix, why wouldn't the Leafs be fixing them? Apathy?

oh hell no. I get back spasms occasionally. I'm drugged up and useless for at least 24-36 hours depending on how quickly they onset and I get the meds going. And mine are probably far less serious than those of JVR (or Lupul who also gets them) I figure at least 3-4 days for those guys, and that's only if the spasms stop. Then you gotta give them recovery time. A week minimum is not out of order here.

Still relying on the magical healing power of bleeding and leeches to get JvR's four humors in proper balance.

I heard Nonis was walking behind JvR, jabbing him in the back with a lead pipe.

He clearly has the skull sloping of a layabout.

Well, considering Carlyle's theory on concussions....

I just don't understand how JvR can't just walk it off.

So Reimer has a headache, but is still supposed to be at practice tomorrow. Now someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this sound pretty close to the initial response from the team the last time he sustained an injury to the head/neck. You know, the one that knocked him out of play for months and months?

Don't worry. Dr. Carlyle is on the case.

His diagnosis: a mild case of hothead.

His remedy: Remove helmet, apply three leeches, call him in the morning.

Yeah, but this time it's different.

From what I remember the team mishandled Gardiner's concussion too. Reimer shouldn't be in a room with the lights on for at least 3 days.

They should try the ol' "punch-him-in-the-arm-to-take-his-mind-off-the-ouchy-head" trick.

University of Toronto goalie Michael Nishi is on the ice for Leafs practice, likely meaning Reimer will not be.

Also, JVR is on the ice early again today.
