I haven?t watched a game since I left Canada weeks ago. I watch through the posts on this site.
I am more than astounded at the overwhelming negativity by most of the posters here. Earlier it wasn?t burn it all down and now it?s all excitement and the moment.
If you want perspective then forget about the battle and win the war, this season is only half way through.
Perhaps our goalies after the break are not our goalies tonight, perhaps this team gels and does something. All I do know is this team sports some of the best players they have ever assembled and play exciting hockey most of the time.

Highlander I've been posting how I feel about this team for a long time long before this season.Yes we have a lot of talent but what has it gotten them. I get ridiculed about this team all the time why? Because we haven't won anything in so long and this core hasn't accomplished anything. Sure we love seeing awesome talent but bottom line is winning and I've said it before even if it's not a cup at least some progress.I haven't been impressed with our record all year and said it before I think we've regressed.

You don't want to up another late rush but Liljegren backing up out of the zone when Matthews has possession of the puck and is trying to get it back to the point.  This is happening a lot with our defense

I didn't care for any of them but Dubas built part of the stuff you see today and yes Tre's moves haven't worked out but part of some of that is what he was dealt and had to build on. I liked Kyle I didn't like when he caved in to 16, 34 and 88 and that to me is why we have some of these issues. Perspective? I have perspective. You sound to me of a fan that likes seeing quality players succeed individually but can't seem to get over that hump. Sorry I'm not like that.

I couldn?t disagree more. Matthews is going to be the greatest Leafs player of all time, and Marner is not far behind him.

Mathews is scoring at a pace better than Ovechkin. Players like that get paid.

And nylander is absolutely a top tier player.

Honestly I get you?re passionate about the team but you have no perspective at all. Your logic is on a plane that doesn?t exist.

Knies should have gotten off the ice on the way back after that big hit by Zadorov. Knew that was going to be trouble once they got into the Leaf zone.

What's Willy's excuse for his play on that goal? Terrible effort from him.

No one said they weren't top tier players. My question is what do you pay them especially after coming off their entry levels contracts. I'm not an expert on caps and taxes and all that sh*t but do you think Marner is worth more than Kucherov? We seem to overpay and if that has got to do with taxes then the league needs to look at that because Leafs are getting screwed.

He was the only guy who got on the ice after the poor clearing attempt.  He needed to put in way more effort.  At least he's scoring tonight.

Let's put things intro perspective.

Matthews is having one of the best starts ever.

Nylander is having the best start he's ever had.

Marner is on pace for 90+ point season again.

Rielly continues to be our best defencemen.

This team should be at least as good if not better than last years team. Tre had 16-17mil of cap space to work with this summer and could have reshaped the team for the better, and unequivocally his signings have been a failure (less Jones & Benoit).

This is not on Dubas, partly on Keefe, but ultimately this is on Tre and on Shanny. Just look at Calgary to see the mess left behind by Tre.

Dubas have minimal cap room last few years and made some great moves, Tre had 16+mil and didn't hit on even one.

The issue is Tre and Shanny.

Good post, thanks for joining the debate.

Let's see what they come up with in the third.  It would be a huge boost if they can pull even and then win it.
