I don't think Sundin was referring to his time with the team. Actually I don't see him actually quoted as saying "He's not surprised the LEAFS are asking Nylander to take less money." What he does say is "I think (it happens) in every negotiation for all players in the league? .
So I suppose the article isn't really misleading. The title is certainly thrown out there to try and grab attention. Right or wrong.
Yeah, that I more or less agree with. I think the Leafs part of it came from the question rather than the answer. He was probably asked if he was surprised at what the Leafs were doing, he said "No, that's what happens in the league" or whatever and someone at Sportsnet tried to make chopped salad with the headline.
How Sundin's answer rises to the level of news is anyone's guess.
