Ducks @ Leafs - Dec. 16th, 7:30pm - TSN4, Fan 590

Last year's team probably wouldn't have been able to close this one out when the ducks made it 2-1.  This year's team, at least up until this point, are able to put an emphasis on the wins. And, they're beating the top teams , even when they're having off nights.

Kessel with 17 goals in 31 games.  On pace for 45 goals.  This coming out of what could arguable be considered one of his slump periods.

The Ducks started pressing and let space open up. Classic Kessel; lazy soft check at his own blueline to sucker more Ducks into the zone and slips the boards for a breakaway.

We played a terrible first 2 periods, but didn't sit back when we were spotted a lead.

Thanks be to Bernier for the win.

Leafs continue to roll with another win against a quality opponent! I was a bit worried in the 2nd period as the Ducks were badly outshooting us and keeping Bernier busy, but full credit to the Buds as they came out fired up in the 3rd to put this one away.

It would be nice to get quality goaltending and supplementary offense all the time... and they still need work on team defense.

I have to give credit to Carlyle for finally rolling out lines in a more consistent and logical fashion. I guess it has alot to do with the performance of the players leaving him little choice, but at least we're not seeing those bizarre lineup choices and players finishing the night with less than 4 minutes of ice time.
