I'm not a fan of Keefe's line blender, especially for the new guys. Set the lines to start the game, and let them build some chemistry.
I don't mind it at all. I'm liking the JT, Matthews Marner trio. With 11F he's got lots of options.

Why? They started brutally and nothing was going. This is pretty standard practice.

Nice play by lafferty. Too bad willy couldn't finish it.

I won't second-guess him, but he should have gone to the backhand.

Heh, I'm with you on the former -  he'd be in my top 3 for every shootout regardless.

Nylander?s recognition of a breakaway opportunity is instantaneous
Willy goes all the time and it's not always a good thing...last night on the Hyman goal for example of cheating gone bad.

Because you've got so many new bodies, they need to see some consistency between players and patterns. There's too many variables already.

Ok, but ultimately this is a judgment call. There's no right answer, but neither are wrong answers, so in this case I defer to the NHL coach.

*Edit Also to add to that it's not like the big boys who are super familiar with each other were going anyway. I wouldn't say this is at all on the new players.
