For example, Winipeg had not scored a power play goal until they met the Leafs and then they scored two. Then there was Boston who was not averaging more than two goals scored per game until they met the Leafs who gave them six.
Columbus cannot seem to win (2-9-1). I think this game is another opportunity for the Leafs to help a team in a slump. I say Columbus will win 5-2 and Kessel's slump will continue tonight and set him up nicely for a run and hide show against Boston on Saturday night.
I do not know why I am down on the Leafs this morning, but I think it will all be justified soon enough if they do not change some things.
Kessel's in a slump?
After scoring 10 goals in the first 10 games he has 0 in the past 2. ;D

Well he did have 2 points last night, if that constitutes the extent of Kessel's "slumps" this year sign me up.

Both Scott Hartnell and Jaromir Jagr did not have a goal before they played the Leafs. They both scored twice.
Adam Larsson did not have a point prior to last night. He registered his first point against the Leafs.
It's been happening since last year and I've read it from numerous people. The Leafs have been slump busters. Pretty sure last year (or was it the year before?) Steve Sullivan scored his first goal after being out a year against us too.

Well there is a slight difference between a player on a team breaking out of a slump, and an entire roster (sans their #1 Center).
For a player like Jagr to break a slump (what was it 6 or 7 games for an NHL all time great?) it requires a few Leaf players to have a momentary lapse once or twice in the game, or the player to make an amazing play for the slump to be broken.
When it comes to W's it would take most of the Leaf roster over the entire game to lapse or Columbus to play way over their heads (they do after all only have 2 W's and a goal differential of -12) without Carter for them to break their slump.
I don't see them as being directly equatable scenarios, and have confidence the Leafs stand a very good chance of winning against the worst team in the NHL.

Ron Wilson did say that Reimer was "gassed" after morning skate yesterday and said he'd have no problem going back to Gustavsson tonight. That was after the game last night and seems the likely scenario tonight.

Luke schenn getting extra work this morning. He's a possible healthy scratch tonight after playing only 10 mins in new jersey.
