Game 2 - Sens @ Leafs - Saturday Oct 8th 2011 - 19:00 EST - 6-5 Win

We beat the scum from Ottawa that's all that matters.
I wanna repeat.

Next time Neil steps up against Colton Orr.
It's lights out Neil you puke.

Last year the Leafs would have found a way to lose that game. I will take it as a positive, particularly if they can learn to not take their foot off the gas when they are up 5-1.

Any ways, a win's a win. That 3rd period is ugly, but, they've got a week to work on things, and this can certainly be beneficial for them in the long run.

Yeah, don't agree with Cherry on that one, I think the Leafs could use the week to get somewhat more organized.

I was just thinking... I'd hate to see what would happen with Beauchemin on the ice for the final 30 seconds...

Before the 3rd I was thinking it would be better if they could just keep this thing rolling...but after I'm thinking they could use the week to iron out some issues.  Also the line-up will look different with Connolly and Mac back in and they will have time to build some chemistry in practice.

We were in the centre ice area shooting the puck out of play with 5 seconds left and the result is a faceoff in the Leafs zone with 7 seconds left.

I didn't think it went out of play.

Magic powers, time travel, whatever it takes to win... :)

I guess Ron can make those lineup changes without hesitation now.

Yeah. Special teams still need work, a little more consistency with the defensive system is in order, etc. As much as it's better to not have that much time off in a winning streak, at this point, I'd say they'd be going into the next game pretty cold. Better to have some time to put this one behind them.

The one guy I think has looked terrible has been Bozak. He had about 6 top notch chances that game because of the work of other forwards on his line that he couldn't convert on and went 2 for 12 in the circle. Humpty Dumpty needs to put himself together again right quick.

Well, Connolly is about to return, hopefully all the kings horses, yadda yadda...

Yeah. I'm interested in seeing how he performs in the role he was intended for this season. He hasn't been great on the first line, but, so far, his presence certainly hasn't hurt Kessel's production.

The adjustment will be interesting to see when the General and Timmy get back in action and yeah, I want to see Bozak with Army and someone though I also think Army didn't have the greatest game either.

Side note... chippy little game between the Pens and Calgary so far.

Kessel is #1 in the NHL in something this year - first hat-trick.

He had a great game, I thought he wasn't too bad against the habs either, nice to see him digging in at the end.
