Game 23 - Maple Leafs @ Stars 08:30pm

kessel's offensive instincts are outstanding. he didn't get the goal, but he closed in on that rebound so quickly!

More importantly on Dallas' number of penalties.  They are currently 2nd in the league for penalties against, and dead last in powerplays for with 68 (including tonight).

They play a very rough and tumble game, and, if you don't do that smart, it can get you in penalty trouble, which, for them, it obviously has. Considering their offence is pretty mediocre, they're lucky their goaltending/penalty kill has been good.

ya know, it's hard to believe this is the same team about whose pp we were complaining loudly not two weeks ago......
The Pk also is working on a 86.5% pace in the last few games... (5 goals in the last 37 kills, including the 2 kills os far tonight)

Man, I really don't understand what Dallas is doing on the PP.  They have one guy standing off to the side against the boards and near one of the two defensemen on the point who really isn't in a good position to take a shot or pass the puck.

Man nice read by Kessel there in his own zone to intercept the pass and then take off for one of his own

In what seems like a blink of an eye, special teams went from being a team weakness to being a team strength. Hard to fathom, but, I'm liking it.

2nd good scoring chance by Kessel... he will score on his 3rd one!

We have one of the best in the league here in Kessel.

Agreed. I can't believe how well he's playing at BOTH ends of the rink. Where did this defensive awareness come from??

Good first period. I am really liking the way they are playing right now. I hope they can keep it up for while. 5-2 Leafs is my prediction

I am in Kingston tonight. I rushed like crazy to get here and now I find that Sportsnet in Kingston has the Sens game. Does anyone have a link to see the game online?

For all the lack of scoring, Dupuis has been on the ice for the fewest PK goals against on the team and he's the one out on the 1st unit with Steckel.  Underrated aspect of him being in the lineup.  While Wallin was not bad defensively, Dupuis is better on the PK which tempers his abysmal offensive production.

Shouldn't Ryder have gotten a penalty there? Sure he got hurt, but he did haul Kulemin down.

At least Kule contributed by taking out Ryder, if not scoring.

The correlation to the emergence of Wilson's movemberness is ....  Well, all I am saying is someone needs to hide his razor when December 1 rolls around.
