Yeah probably leaving the group together as long as they're having success.

I've always been in favor of making the team better when the opportunity presents itself.

Clearly they don't think it would make the team better to bring him up in whatever role they'd have for him right now.  Again, I'm not too upset with him playing huge minutes in the AHL.

Does anyone else think the sens are going to win?

After what happened last time the Leafs played them I've decided to keep any and all predictions about how the game will end to 10-15 minutes after the game actually ends.

Putting Gardiner on the team doesn't automatically make this team better. Especially when you consider that we're talking about a position that has been pretty good for us this season. Who do you replace him with? Where does he play? Assuming the Fraser-Franson pairing is locked in right now (as they should be), these are the possibilities:

Gardiner-Phaneuf -> Gardiner simply isn't good enough defensively to play with Phaneuf and against the opponent's top lines night in and night out
Holzer or Gunnarsson-Gardiner -> Those two might compliment and hide Gardiner's defensive issues, but all three are left handed shots and would force somebody to play out of position
Gardiner-Kostka -> This pairing may have had success in the AHL but would probably get ripped to shreds defensively against NHL competition

Gardiner may be good, but the 6 guys ahead of him right now just make more sense for the team.

edit: Sorry, Holzer is a righty. I had him and Fraser mixed up. Still, I'm not sure I would want a Gardiner-Holzer second pairing.

So after this many games last season we had the same number of points, and we 'fell off the cliff' soon after 5-0 over Ottawa...

:-\

Don't need to worry about the shutout anymore. Phew.

Gunnarsson was covering three guys there in front of the net. All three Leafs forwards looked like they were up on the points.
