Game 30: Lightning @ Leafs - Mar. 20th, 7:00PM - TSN, TSN 1050

Yep stopped the bleeding for sure.  Now if we can beat Buff and steal one of two from Boston we should be in pretty good shape for the home stretch.

The captain got less than 24 minutes and played rather well I think. Hopefully we see him more and more in the 24-26 minute area than 27+. I think he can be fantastic with a smaller load.

I think it was mostly because of the doubleheader, but I agree.

With Randy telling the media that they are going to test Kadri's line against other teams best players, is it somewhat fair to say that's our number one line now?

Just got home:  Nice game by the Leafs, loving that Lupul Kadri Kuli line.  Kuli seems less reluctant to pull the trigger lately, which is ideal given the sort of opportunities that he's going to get on that line.  I think he should be credited with tipping Phaneuf's goal, but it doesn't look like they're going to change it.

The team seemed to really benefit from a few days off to practice, as they were much more calm and in control getting out of their own zone, particularly in the 1st.  And they had more energy in general.  Interested to see how much juice they have left in the tank tomorrow night.

Reimer (and Scrivens, too) scares the crap out of me when he plays the puck.  They really need to work on that.  Otherwise Reims did his job well.

Waiting to see what happens with that Lupul hit.  Felt careless to me.  I appreciate his intensity (to the point where I'd love to see a C on his chest next season; doesn't seem likely with his history with RC though?) but he's racking up the PIMs, too.  Still, I'll trade penalties for points any day.

Huge win tonight!

Leafs really do need to turn this ship around tonight. Hopefully Lupul can play like he did last game, and Gardiner can have an immediate impact. Reimer has to bring his 'A' game, and we can win this one!!! GLG!

I think all these things happened. Big win!! ;D

Kadri: "I?m not surprised at all. I knew I could provide this type of offence and it was just a matter of when. I worked my butt off."

Kadri played 14.5 minutes tonight 5-on-5 and 11 of them were against Stamkos and St. Louis.

"That's really been the learning curve for Nazie. We always knew that he had skill."

Suggestion to Coach: Lose that nickname, posthaste.  First, because it's going to cause spelling problems for the reporters, and second, because even if you pronounce it like his real first name, it's pretty close if not identical to how Churchill pronounced the name of his enemies.

So?

Could lead to some awkward endorsements.

You're kidding.  Right?  Tell me you are.

No.  His name is Nazem, so someone can't shorten it to Nazie (a terrible nickname but oh well) because it is the way Winston Churchill used to say Nazi?  Are we that sensitive that the alternative way someone said Nazi is enough to offend someone 60+ years later?  Who would be offended by that?  Or what is the reason that would be so bad?

And in case I get accused of being ignorant or something, I'm very, very well versed on the history of the Second World War and the Nazi Party.

I am accusing you of being ignorant or something....oh wait!
