Strange call on JvR. Strahlman went done very easily.

Stralman should have gotten the two for diving no doubt but JvR did whack him.

We're stretching the definition of 'whack' - he baaaarely touched him.  Same thing happens dozens of times a game without anyone batting an eye.

To me that goal is a good example of why the rule should be changed. I'm fine with the idea of a goal counting if it hits a skate and goes in inadvertently but that, to me, was just scoring a goal with your feet. Who cares if it's a kicking motion?

That was pure power from Nash.

Not exactly sure why Reimer decided to stay standing up with his legs wide open on that play.  Seems like he might have been better off getting down and trying to take away the post/through the crease play.

That's a different conversation though.

I thought the same thing.  I guess maybe he was surprised Nash was able to cut in there?  I don't know.

If I'm Reimer there, Nash is getting a blocker in the face. Can't let guys crash your net like that.

Find some defence that takes the body. Should have been pasted when he cut to the net. Nash always does that. Franson should know that and cut him off and that rule just irks me no kicking motion.

Couldn't agree with you more.

Dion, let me introduce you to something called the wrist shot.  Why does Phaneuf need to wind up on every single shot he takes?

Also nice to see that tripping isn't really a penalty.

Every game, I become a little more confused as to what is and what is not a penalty.

Tripping a guy is fine, but don't you dare half-heartedly swipe at his leg - that's a no-no.

Do it like you mean it or don't do it at all. I see.

Franson got beat wide, there's nothing he could have done. You have to give credit to Nash but Reimer totally bailed on that play. Make it known that you won't tolerate people in your crease. Nash should be spitting up blood right now.

He doesn't.  He's taken at least one wrist/snap shot this period - but I agree he shouldn't have wound up on that one.  Had no chance of getting it through.
