Hopefully this means we have a 2nd line again.

Yeah we need to rip them some more before games.

Grabovski hit 2012 and realized he wasn't going to get a big payday if he didn't start stepping up:

6G 7A in his last 11GP

Nice to have some scoring from the blueline again too.  Gardiner with 4 points in the 5 games since getting back into the lineup.  He's a +5 over that stretch.

Washington wins. Buffalo and New Jersey are in overtime. Florida and Philly are tied in the 3rd.

Leafs look like they'll still be in 9th going into the break, but, they've opened up a 5 point cushion on the Jets.

Yeah, I'm not worried about the Jets at all anymore. Washington/Florida, New Jersey, and Toronto are the candidates for the final two spots now. And to be honest I'm optimistic New Jersey and Florida won't have big second halves.

Nice to see Mac snipe a pair, both beauty one timers. Can't figure the guy out sometimes :).

Last year I'd say he was probably one of the most consistent forwards we had from start to finish.

This year he's been one of the most inconsistent.  If only we could get the second line going again we'd be in pretty good shape.

NJ had a pretty good second half last year

Also, congratulations to Jonas Gustavsson for matching his career high in wins with 16.  Pretty hard to fault him on any of those goals tonight and he came up with a number of big saves.  I really couldn't be happier with his play.

Yeah. Florida's struggling and the Devils are actually below .500 in games that don't go to a shootout.

Washington with a 5 goal output. That's quite the feat for them it seems this season. Maybe they figured it out they play better with OV out of the lineup. Can't believe he pulled out of the all-star game. I can understand players bowing out here and there but little whiner is pissed with the suspension plain and simple. Did anyone see his interview. He doesn't think it was deserved and to boot he thinks Zbynek Michalek should be suspended as well. Like the guy as a player but selfish and stupid.

That was largely brought on by a coaching change. I'm not saying they're poised to fall off the planet, I just think that they'll be very catchable.

One more little tidbit - if the Sens lose tonight (they're down by 1 early right now), they'll be up by 5 points with the Leafs having 3 games in hand.

That being said, they just lost in the SO to Buffalo.  Pominville scored as the 3rd shooter to tie it and that little punk Gerbe won it on the 4th shooter.

We can't seem to get the Kessel and Grabs line firing at the same time.  One is hot while the other is cold.  If they both can get hot at once and with the way Gus has been playing hopefully we can go on a real streak.

i'll actually have to go check out what he got the suspension over ...though i find it interesting that he pulled out of the allstar game...and unfortunate ..as the only reason i would have had to pay attention to any of it ..was to see if OV got picked last

Nice of them to do the Leafs a solid now that they're well out of it.

Lets just say the Sens wake up, realize they are not very good and fall back down to earth to miss the playoffs.  Mini collapse is all it would take.
