Washington with a 5 goal output. That's quite the feat for them it seems this season. Maybe they figured it out they play better with OV out of the lineup. Can't believe he pulled out of the all-star game. I can understand players bowing out here and there but little whiner is pissed with the suspension plain and simple. Did anyone see his interview. He doesn't think it was deserved and to boot he thinks Zbynek Michalek should be suspended as well. Like the guy as a player but selfish and stupid.

i'll actually have to go check out what he got the suspension over ...though i find it interesting that he pulled out of the allstar game...and unfortunate ..as the only reason i would have had to pay attention to any of it ..was to see if OV got picked last

Here you go Devil

yeah that seems pretty cut and dry...what would michalek be suspended for?  giving OV those "come jump up and elbow me in the head" eyes?

One more little tidbit - if the Sens lose tonight (they're down by 1 early right now), they'll be up by 5 points with the Leafs having 3 games in hand.

Those divisional games are killing us. If we only had a .500 record against the Bruins (0-4) and Ottawa (1-3) the standings go from...

1) Boston 64 points
2) Ottawa 60 points
3) Toronto 55 points

...to...

1) Toronto 61 points
2) Boston 60 points
3) Ottawa 58 points

Granted, Boston would have 2 games in hand, but still that's a dramatic difference.

the fact that boston is above .500 against us isn't a surprise though ..it's how useless we've been against ottawa ..especially since ottawa has played the night before every time the leafs have played them

aaand Florida goes to overtime.

None of the three teams the Leafs were chasing lost in regulation, which is a bummer.

Hopefully the Flyers pull this one out.

Wouldn't we be ahead of the Panthers?

Anyways, we're still tied with enough teams it isn't so bad.

If the Panthers lose in OT/SO both teams will have 55 points. The Leafs have more regulation wins but the first tie-break is point %, and since the Panthers have played 1 less games they'll have the advantage there.

What's the first tiebreaker?

Edit: too late, I see above.

Yeah, that's pretty crazy. Hopefully, the Leafs can get better results in the 4 remaining games against the sens and the Bruins.

How 'bout I just pretend that's not true.  :)

Well you could assume that Florida will squander their game in hand, which considering their recent struggles could very well be true.

LOL Panthers lose in a shootout - their league-leading 11th such free point.

Four teams with 55 points.

Y'know, after what, seven years(?) of this, I'm really starting to get sick of keeping track and/or worry about teams ahead of us playing in a seemingly endless string of three-point games..

i'll take where they are this year as opposed to where they've been at this point in the season for the last three years...

Gutsy win.  Loved to see how calm Gus was after that freak bounce that led to the third goal.  He's a rock.

Yeah I actually didn't mind giving the Islanders a point cause it puts the Habs in a tie for dead last in the conference.

I was at that point seven years ago. With a couple of games left in the season, I might start looking a little closer.

The goal in those 4 games really needs to be 4-5 points.  Win 2 of them (preferably against the Sens) and take another one to overtime.
