REIMER STARTS TONIGHT.

Oh God please play a strong game.  I am so worried now, he's been so average.  :-

At least we will get to see his 10 second freeze up pose after he lets in a goal. I call it "Magnum"

More than anything else Reimer has been the biggest disappointment of this season so far. :(

Like I posted in last nights GDT, Reimer may surprise us tonight. I really hope he has a great game, and works his way back into the number 1 position. We could have a really good goalie tandem ready for the playoffs if he finds his form.

I see the Pens coming out flying tonight. Reims better be ready early.

Glad Reimer is starting. I still believe it's him, not Gustavsson, that needs to really get going for the Leafs to make a run here late in the season.

It makes sense to start Reimer, and I predict he'll respond with a good game and a win for us.

As for whether it's him or Gus who needs to get going, I'd say it's both.  That was, after all, the gameplan to start the season.

Reimer has been worse than average.  His sv pct numbers before his injury were almost acceptable but still below average, .912 only gets one 26th at this point.  Afterwards he has been very unsteady, .892 is not average it is terrible.

Pretty funny the way things have changed since that hit to his head.  Before that Gus was the long shot, now Reimer is the one who needs to get it back together or bust.

I am also glad that Reimer is starting. I did not think Gus looked that good. Yes he made excellent saves. But I still blame him on one or Two of the goal.

lets hope the boys can put together 60 mins instead of 50.

Go Leafs Go

I hope Reimers glove hand is ready!  You'll hear 5 times in tonights telecast the book is out, and to shoot high glove.  Put the naysayers to rest James!

Did the Leafs mix that book up with the one for Fleury?  They were shooting everything right into his glove last night while I was watching.

Reimer will earn a victory tonight and begin the momentum we need for the rest of the season and right into the playoffs.
W 4 - 0

Don't know about our chances for tonight.

With no Crosby and Stall. Malkin totally invisible for 59:53 of the game and super sloppy defence that gave so many open nets they still managed to win. How can they possibly play this bad two nights in a row?

Any word on who starts in net for the Pens?

Not announced yet, but it's expected Fleury will sit and Johnson will play. Fleury has appeared in 23 consecutive games for the Penguins (started 21 of them).

What I noticed (and what I was watching for) in practice today was that Reimer was playing out to the edge of the blue paint, which is where he needs to be (see my post in goaltending conundrum). If he challenges and cuts down his angles by coming out of his net like that, I think we'll see the old Reimer. If he hangs back, he'll get picked apart. Just something to watch for tonight!

Just skate our asses off and don't take penalties... Discipline.  Always good practice and it should have worked last night.
