Game 73: MAPLE LEAFS @ BRUINS 7:00PM TV: SNET-O

More posts in this GDT than the previous two wins, no trolls gleeful here, no sir.

Opposing opinions are fine, as are negative ones, but those who find it necessary to do it constantly, every time they post, really need to take a long hard look at what's wrong with their lives.

The mods here are great, but something more needs to be done or more of the decent members in this community are going to disappear.

MLSE sent me an e-mail today advising they are currently in the process of sending out the renewal notice for next season - timing is everything.

They made sure to highlight that the price would remain unchanged, but after this game they should be paying me to go to games.........

Komisarek's specialty right there.  Bruins cycle the puck around a tire the Leafs out.  Komisarek gets a block and has all the time in the world.  He haphazardly backhands the puck down the ice for an icing.  Someone needs to take the blade off his stick.

Why stop at the stick??  At least we can speculate about Justin Schultz for the next few months.  That will keep us going for a while.

"Thank You Kessel" chants

It would probably be more appropriate to thank Burke, but meh.

I was out and flipped on the score and saw it was 6-0. I figured they'd at least be competitive tonight. With Washington winning tonight, this looks like it should be the end of any hope that may have been remaining (I'll admit I had my fingers crossed that they could have been two points out after tomorrow).

I've probably said it already, but at this point I would prefer as high a draft pick as possible.

0-6 this season against the Bruins, topped off by an 8-0 loss, but let's look at the positives!!

I think they're mathematically eliminated now arent they ? Most point they can get is 88...

There aren't 8 teams in the East with 88 points, so, no. And, for what it's worth, they can still reach 90.

Someone in the Tank Nation thread posted that they had a magic number of 6 before tonight's game for making the playoffs (I didn't check any sources on that to confirm, though). That would mean if the Caps hang on to a 4-2 lead on Detroit for the last half of the third, that number would be down to 4.

Zee, we suck right now, you know it, I know it.

You don't go into every thread and make a wise ass comment about how badly we suck though and you also usually have insightful contributions even when we win, that's my point.  There is venting and then there is trolling when we are losing, there are a handful of them that have infiltrated this place and it is a shame, because it makes some great threads from some top notch contributors, unreadable.

True, there's not much to take away from this game aside from somehow Rosehill's line managed not to get scored on and the Leafs have been kind of sad against the Cup winners this year but that's not really Wigwals point.

Whoever posted that doesn't understand what "magic numbers" are. 6 represented the number of points between Leafs and 8th place. Their actual "tragic number" if the Caps hold on tonight, assuming the Caps hold the tie-breaker, would be 10. Any combination of points gained by the Caps or lost by the Leafs from here on out equally 10 (assuming the Caps hold the 8th spot) eliminates the Leafs. Anything less puts the Leafs ahead of the Caps.

I've been coming to this site going on about 3 years.. the loss GDTs always have way more posts.. this is not a new thing really.. the Leafs are the most hated team in the NHL (by fans anyway, other nhl teams love to play them). Seguin just had to put one in at the end there, even looking at the box score makes me angry :(

That's way too much hope for my liking.  ;D
