Basically.

Pretty much

From David Alter:

Phil Kessel just hobbled off. Didn't see what happened. Stay tuned.

David Alter ‏@DavidAlter590 ?11 mins
It's been over 10 minutes and Kessel is still in the dressing room.

David Alter ‏@DavidAlter590 ?6 mins
Phil Kessel will not return to practice. Nazem Kadri taking his spot at practice switching to a white jersey.

David Alter ‏@DavidAlter590 ?3 mins
Correction. Trevor Smith is wearing a white jersey in Kessel's absence. Not Kadri. Kessel will not return. Dave Bolland is done practice

I think I can confidently say the season is over without Kessel.  I'm pretty sure he's responsible for 60 percent of the teams scoring chances.

Jeesh. Is the panic button right beside your bed or what? ;)

I actually had it surgically implanted in my arm.  But in all seriousness, Kessel is the team this year (aside from goaltending).    Losing Bolland messed them up for two months.  I would honestly hate to see this team without Kessel.  There isn't a player on this team that can replace his production.

mirtle: Carlyle says Kessel and JVR have been nursing injuries lately.

A few games ago, Kessel has a significant reaction to what looked like a fairly minor poke to the hand, and it looked like his fingers were taped together, so, I imagine he has a broken finger or something similar. As for JvR . . . no clue. Sounds like a leg/hip issue, though.

I'd rather they skip the Olympics if they have any sort of issue.

Kessel's been dealing with a wrist/finger/hand injury for a lot of the season from the sounds of it. And was it two seasons ago when he played the last month of so of the season with a wrist injury that kept him out of the world championships that year? He should probably lay off the COD for awhile.

I would agree if it wasn't for his 16 points in the last 9 games stretch.  He's obviously not injured enough to be on a prolific scoring tear.

16 points in the last 9 games stretch with a broken finger?  So we just need to break one of his fingers every 9 games and he'd end up with a 140 point season.

Also, he's 7th on the team in hits, 4th in terms of forwards.  Of those 4 players, only Clarkson has played fewer games.  Kulemin is averaging 2.1 hits/game.  If he played the same number of games as McClement he would be well ahead of him.  If he played the same number of games as Kadri he would have 107 hits to Kadri's 109.

Cherry can park his xenophobic garbage.
