I thought it was slightly more even in games he'd played against games he'd missed (36-18), but that doesn't make for the prettiest of reading.

Obviously you can't blame one person for the losses but it is interesting

With 51.4% of possible points
Without 64% of possible points

Someone should re-calculate this with Bozak in and out. I like Clarkson. I actually thought the last three games he played with the team prior to this injury were excellent. Clarkson Holland and Kulimen was  the best line on the ice. And that was what we were all expecting from him..

The New York Post compiled its list of hotties for the upcoming Winter Olympics.

Coming in at #10 was the Leafs own Phil Kessel. Good to see him getting recognition for being one of the hottest athletes.

I can't fathom why Kulemin would want to return to Toronto next season.  Unless he likes the city.  But Kulemin-Malkin or Kulemin-Grabovski-Ovechkin sound awful nice, and an UFA bidding war might feel allot better in the pocket book as well.  No Carlyle might be another selling feature to get out of town.  If I did everything that was asked of me, got $2,800,000/season... then saw David Clarkson come in for $5 million?  I'd be pissed.  And I'd ask for just as much from the Leafs if I were him.

It is very difficult to fathom what Kuli actually thinks with regards to his upcoming contract negotiations. He hardly says anything. However, he has never said (even in Russia) anything negative on his being a Leaf, playing in Toronto, or playing for Carlyle. He is a calm guy and does not appear to be sort of Russian-like greedy going after money. I for one believe Carlyle likes him. I do not recall Carlyle criticizing Kulemin just once. He trust him a lot, rewards him with lots of ice-time. I believe it will all come down to Kulemin?s desire to stick with the role he was given in Toronto or rather try to reignite his offensive potential somewhere else. He seems to be quite a conservative guy, both his children were born here, he is familiar with everything, so his departure after this season may not be such a sure thing. Or is it just my wishfull thinking?

Ooookay then.

Well you know.  In comparison, David Clarkson took slightly less than grossly overpaid to come to the Leafs instead of going to Canadian Siberia.

drummond's Czech, I believe, so it's ok if he says it. Your or I on the other hand...

My father was born in Holland, and because of this I have dual citizenship.  I've never been though...

Anyways can I say it?

I'm naturally pessimistic.  Being a Leafs fan for four decades will do that to you.

You can say half of it. Whichever half you please.

I'm Ukranian, instead of money-grubbing we start a revolution every two years or so.

Photographers really need to stop the "hockey stick pointed directly at camera" pose.

It's working though, the chicks are digging Kessel. Must be his bad boy persona.

Much love for Kulemin:

@67sound

For 2007-2013, Kulemin is 98th in NHL in 5v5 Pts/60. Ahead of Michalek. Both Koivu?s. J. Staal. Kesler. Gionta. M. Richards. And many more.

Think he's well worth the money.  Doesn't get PP time, so the 5 on 5 numbers are very important and that is impressive.

EDIT: Also, Kessel with 20 points in January is career best in a month for him, and first Leafs player to do so since Sundin in 2006.

Apparently Greg McKegg has been called up to the Leafs.  Has 26 points in 35 games.  He's having a nice season for the Marlies, basically doubling his PPG of last season.

Holland missed practice because he hurt his foot on a new pair of skates. Carlyle said he should be available for tomorrow night so I'm guessing McKegg is getting called up just in case.

Projected Leafs roster, once healthy: (as per Mirtle the turtle)

JVR ? Bozak ? Kessel
Lupul ? Kadri ? Kulemin
Raymond ? Bolland ? Clarkson
McClement ? Smith ? Orr
ex: McLaren

Gunnarsson ? Phaneuf
Gleason ? Rielly
Gardiner ? Franson
ex: Ranger

Bernier
Reimer

It probably won't happen this season, but I'd love to see a third line of...

Holland-Bolland-Clarkson
