Today's waivers should be interesting. I believe TOR's Darryl Boyce will be claimed. @StapeNewsday reports NYI will put Brian Rolston on.

For nothing?... Maybe?

What does Brian Rolston have to do with goaltending?

He's confusing Brian Rolston with Dwayne Roloson?

Oh snap! That's exactly what I did.  :-[ (My eyes read Roloson for some reason.)

Tampa was showcasing Roloson today -- 8 goals against.

Wow.. Okay, forget I even brought his name up... Looks like he's really done.

Only 4 starts this season where he's allowed less than 3 goals. Done may not be a strong enough word for where he's at.

via Yiddish קאַפּוט (kaput, ?lost, dead?)... Not sure I can get hammer home a stronger word without breaking a site rule or two.  :)

The only way I'd take him on the Leafs is if they took Komisarek straight up for him. Then, I'd send Roloson to the Marlies and make a move to pick up a real goalie.

It's unlikely but I'm totally with you there.

Anyone just catch Jamie McLennan put the blame for this mess squarely on Allaire? With Reimer specifically, he feels he was much better when he was playing as a hybrid... Feels Reimer is just not adapting to Allaire's blocking style not should he. I don't know, kind of makes sense to me.

Even though during Reimer's hot streak last season Reimer credited Allaire with making a change to his positioning for his success.

When was he playing as a hybrid?  As far as I'm aware Allaire worked with Reimer before he was called up to the NHL too.

I do think it's something you need to consider.  He worked with Patrick Roy.  Great, I also think that any player who is legitimately one of the best in the history of the game would probably be that way regardless of who is coach is (assuming the coach plays him) because their own internal compete factor is just on the next level of their competitors.    He also had great success with JS Giguere.  I don't doubt for a second that he helped revive his career.

But not every coach works with every player.  I don't think it is unfair to suggest that Allaire can be a good coach, and a guy who both Reimer and Gustavsson respect, but it doesn't mean that he is the guy who can get the most of these guys.  I think he has done some really nice things with Gustavsson in terms of getting him to stay closer to the net rather than going on fishing expeditions each time he makes a save, but I think the style of drop and make the puck hit you isn't ALWAYS the right thing to do.

One thing about Reimer though.  Last year, I felt he was really strong at making the 1st save.  He squares up to the shooter really well.  A big difference between last year and this year is that he is giving up way more rebounds.  I found his ability to reset for the second shot, or move laterally is where he can get into trouble at times because he isn't nearly as athletic as Gustavsson (obviously he can still make some big saves like the stick save on Saturday) so it's harder for him to push off and get across the net.  I think that is a place where always crouching down does Reimer a bit of a disservice because he's taking away his size advantage and he's not in an optimal position to push off across the net.

I can buy that.  Bad coaching equates to poor play.

I believe Reimer was playing a hybrid last year, no? There were a bunch of clips showing Reimer using his athleticism to get to pucks as opposed to just letting them hit him and drop in front of him (which doesn't seem to be working for him now.) Now, is this just creative editing by TSN or is there something to it?

I can't watch the TSN stuff right now, so I can't really say unfortunately.

That a good analysis of it I think.
