As Jim Mora once stated.
Playoff hockey. You talking playoffs? Playoffs? You kidding me.

Ain't a given.

When would you suggest the team practice and prepare for the playoffs?

All I'm saying is the playoffs aren't a given from what I've seen of this team the last 12 months. Regardless of the new faces and injuries. Team has been mediocre for a long time and not going to get into a shouting match but a problem exists with this team. Team was on the cusp of being a wild card team last year. May be in the same boat this year. Like I've said team has so much more talent than most of the league. We shouldn't be struggling as much as we do.
Hopefully they get on a good streak and get where they should be.
I'm not the one that has the belief lets get into the playoffs and we'll see what happens. Almost to the point that if we just squeak in all is fine.
This team should be getting into the playoffs comfortably.

All I?m saying is that it looks like the team is being taught how to learn a different way (sans offensive cheating)

Fire Paul McFarland. There I said it.

Florida was #2 in the league in PP with McFarland as the PP coach last year.
Is he really the problem?
They need to just simplify things.
Far too often they try and get cute.
Yes, yes he is! The players are more creative than what we've seen them do on the PP

Very patient play by the Leafs overall, as has been the case the past little while since November started. They?re still building and working at not getting too far ahead of themselves.

Freddie made a lot of really good saves, but the Leafs also kept his vision very clear for the most part.

Thought for a minute Marner waited too long. I was waiting for him to shoot. Sweet feed and shot.

Gonna get my HM for causing the turnover and the nice assist.

Man I haven't had genuine Leafs joy since Marner's O/T winner against Boston. What a pass, what a shot! I did a massive fistpump :D

At what point do we maybe need to completely change the format of the PP.  it?s just so mediocre for this much talent

They?re overthinking the drop pass. It should be a live read of what the  defense is presenting, but they?re going 80? drop pass almost by default. Other than that, their setup is dangerous albeit they?re new to the angles. Once they settle into this one, I?d like them to flip between the ?new? and previously successful strong side model within games.

They have no puck retrieval option and no point shot.  They ought to try Barrie on the 1U.

U think they would try something. Maybe try Reilly and Barrie both on the point.
Barrie has been a disappointment but that may be due to Babcock and the system and how they are using him.
I think Barrie's disappointment is directly related to Babs. The PP is a mess right now so change it up with Barrie on PP1. He was the quarterback in Col so try it.

I mean as good as Andersen was it's not like it was a quiet night for Subban. I think he played pretty well for the most part.

I thought we were going to get rolled by the combination of hometown start and the backup curse. He made some sturdy saves (Trevor Moore was robbed).

O/T winner from Joe. I thought for sure Mitch wasn't going to be able to get that pass across, but he did!

Whatever. Babs and McFly if you'd like. Babs is the head coach and ultimately responsible for the personnel.

I'll never understand how anyone would think that the new pp coach wouldn't get some rope and to put the blame on Babs for something he's not really responsible for. At some point he has to put his foot down and say we've got to try something else, but the special teams are literally the reason they have assistant coaches.
