Playoff hockey. You talking playoffs? Playoffs? You kidding me.

Ain't a given.

When would you suggest the team practice and prepare for the playoffs?

At what point do we maybe need to completely change the format of the PP.  it?s just so mediocre for this much talent

Just the thinnest of margins for this puck to go in.

They?re overthinking the drop pass. It should be a live read of what the  defense is presenting, but they?re going 80? drop pass almost by default. Other than that, their setup is dangerous albeit they?re new to the angles. Once they settle into this one, I?d like them to flip between the ?new? and previously successful strong side model within games.

Shout-out to Justin Holl. Sits in the box most of last year, by-passes players this year and playing with Rielly this game.

It's all well and good to say they are playing tight hockey and so forth but they didn't make the right acquisitions on the backend over the summer to really succeed in the playoffs.  They are going against the grain.

Who?s been telling them to move bodies on their PP setup?

That?s what I find frustrating.  They run a bad set play every time.  Stop doing the same thing over and over again.  It just seems like it should be common sense to not kept doing the same thing especially in the face of poor results

All I'm saying is the playoffs aren't a given from what I've seen of this team the last 12 months. Regardless of the new faces and injuries. Team has been mediocre for a long time and not going to get into a shouting match but a problem exists with this team. Team was on the cusp of being a wild card team last year. May be in the same boat this year. Like I've said team has so much more talent than most of the league. We shouldn't be struggling as much as we do.
Hopefully they get on a good streak and get where they should be.
I'm not the one that has the belief lets get into the playoffs and we'll see what happens. Almost to the point that if we just squeak in all is fine.
This team should be getting into the playoffs comfortably.

They have no puck retrieval option and no point shot.  They ought to try Barrie on the 1U.

U think they would try something. Maybe try Reilly and Barrie both on the point.
Barrie has been a disappointment but that may be due to Babcock and the system and how they are using him.

Consider the sample size of live PP entry attempts. If your team is learning a new sequence and they?re still thinking it through in game rather than second naturing it, would you not want to give it some time to establish? Bad execution doesn?t necessarily mean it?s a bad plan (I like the double barrel of speed carries). Given that this team is extremely process-driven, I wouldn?t be surprised if they have a scheduled checkpoint to tweak things (needs practice time).

McFarland needed nearly a whole season with Florida to develop their system. It just has to come in layers and get built into their instincts with repetition.
