Habs @ Leafs - Mar. 22nd, 7:00pm - CBC, SN 590

We are NOT a playoff team kids....

A loss by the Leafs tomorrow combined with a win by Columbus and any points gained by Detroit, and, they'll be on the outside looking in - with the teams ahead of them having games in hand.

If Bernier's not ready I'd go with McIntyre tomorrow nite.

I'm onboard. Bring on the kid.

I have no idea why we had to keep Reimer in after it was 2-0...why do we have to be losing 4-0 to get a goaltender change. Reimer was not in it tonight...3 terrible goals. After these last few games id be surprised if we get anything for Reimer in the summer.

Ah, it was a fun game. Leafs were unlucky - 3 crossbars, and some average at best goaltending. They deserved better. There were far more positives than negatives tonight overall.

And I'm going on record against the naysayers - Leafs will get the wildcard and go to the postseason.

So tomorrow becomes our D-Day.

Wild Card Spots:
Toronto 80
Detroit 79
---
Columbus 78

Tomorrow features:
Toronto @ New Jersey
Columbus @ New York (Islanders)
Minnesota @ Detroit

The part that's concerning is that both the Wings/Jackets have 2 games in hand, and one of the two is guaranteed 2 points on Tuesday as they play one another.

I share both opinions.  Though it would be best for the team long-range to collapse.  (Assuming it brings the PROPER changes.)

I agree, but that should have been the strategy for the last few years, to get a top 3 pick. They can't collapse at this point to drop enough positions to "compete" with the Buffalos of the NHL. Might as well go for it.

Also if we squeak into 8th guess who we'd play?

It would likely be Boston again.

Although since we'd expect to lose badly we'd have nothing t lose I guess.  Still not the same as wing close to home ice advantage.

Yeah I think you'd have to have the mindset that there's nothing to lose.

I don't see us winning the series in either case, but I'd rather it be Pittsburgh than Boston. At least with them, there is instability and a lot of injury problems plaguing the organization.

Meanwhile Boston has won 11 in a row and their offense is really starting to come together nicely.

The weird thing, is that if Bernier goes into a series healthy, I honestly think the leafs could win a playoff series against any team in the league.

And just as easily, I could see them lose a series against Buffalo or Florida. The team has that uncanny ability to be worldbeater terrific for stretches, and gawdawful beyond belief as well.

He's almost 31.

With all of 104 career minutes in net in the NHL. He's an excellent AHL goalie, but, expecting anything out of him at the NHL level is asking for trouble.

And, as poorly as Reimer played tonight, the rest of the team really needs to a better job of helping their goaltender out. With the way they've played over the last week or so, it really wouldn't matter who was in net. The Habs had the puck in high percentage areas all too often tonight - they just tried to do too much with it.
