Message to Dave Nonis and Randy Carlyle. Wake up. All of us can see what has been the problem with this team for a long time. Address it please.

Seriously. Work on those 190 footers for pete's sake.

I might be in the minority, and I know the team needs to improve it's overall game, but I'm not ready to be a Debbie Downer after a 6-2 start.

pssst?.guys in black stripes? that was icing.

Yeah! Why wasn't that icing?

Because the Carolina player was a step ahead of Rielly heading back towards the goal line. It sucks, but it was the right call with the new rule.

Kind of beside the point anyways. Unless the whistle blows you don't direct the puck into your own net.

That's also true. You don't let up until after the whistle blows.

Does anyone have a clip of that non-call icing? im pretty sure I saw white ice before franzon touched it...but I could be wrong so id like to double check.

And wow turn over after turn over...they really have to work on not giving the opposing team the puck.

Bad desicion by Bernier on that play...play it or don't...don't half-mule it

That was a dreadful blunder by Bernier...the sad part is that it is going to cost him the next start despite the fact that he is the better goalie.

This two goalie system is going to hurt this team in the long run.  Good teams always have a dedicated #1 guy.

I fear that Bernier is going to get fed up with this Mickey Mouse coaching and move on to a team that will give him the legitimate #1 starting opportunity that he deserves.

No, I'm talking about that near miss at the end of the game before Kadri's penalty.

Carolina player shot it off the glass in his own zone and it crossed the goal line.

How is that true? I can think of multiple Stanley Cup winners in recent years that didn't have a clear cut #1 guy throughout the season.

My apologies everyone. I finally got my stream to work and then 10 seconds later, well, you know what happened.

That's how I feel about it too: it sucks, but you have to put at least half an ass into playing the puck, no matter what's going on.  That was no more than 2/5ths of an ass there.

I'm more upset about the tripping penalty on Kadri that led to the first goal; I thought it was pretty obvious that the guy was falling before Kadri had much of anything to do with him.  Blargh.

Well whatever.  6-2.  Bring on the Blackhawks and Ducks.  Let's see what this team can do against some tough teams.

Oh. Well, that one was waved off because Franson definitely could have played it before it crossed the line. He very obviously let up on it.

I figured it had to be your fault. Thanks a lot Obama Bullfrog.

How about that Ward guy? He became the starter in the first week of the playoffs.

I believe Osgood did that as well. Nothing wrong with depth.

Ok go ahead.

Not to mention both of Chicago's cup winning teams.

I'd rather have the team get used to one goaltender and learn his tendencies.  It just makes more sense to me.  Is it possible to win with 2 goalies getting equal time?  Yes but it is more volatile and has potential to create problems and ruin team chemistry.

Well, considering we've named 3 of the last 6 and 4 of the last 8 cup winners it's not just possible, it seems to be no less of an effective strategy. I don't think it's true that it could "ruin team chemistry" but even if it is the trade-off is that if you bank everything on one goalie you leave yourself vulnerable to one significant injury derailing you entirely. Right now, with neither guy having proved himself capable of true #1 status over the course of a full season, there's no need to risk that. There'll be opportunity for both guys, though, to actually earn that spot as the season progresses.
