Injury Thread / Lou's Corner

His main argument for sticking with GF% is that replacing Hunlak with other 5/6D would not get the same GF% performance.

Right, and the tl;dr argument against that is that GF% isn't an individually driven statistic like CF% is (which Hunlack are godawful at). It's driven largely by on-ice Sv%, which many agree isn't something a player can have an impact on (because it's been shown to not be a repeatable statistic).

I've got some pictures/videos that prove Hunwick has direct impact on SV%.

Here's one recent one:

Oh, you meant the SV% of the opposing goalie?

Stop trying to blame goals on how the play unfolds on the ice.  Sometimes a goal is just a goal and constantly scapegoating Hunwick for making bad plays shows your bias.

Hunwick - 5 assists - Corrado - 0 assists

After publicly expressing his concerns, it wouldn't be surprising to never see Corrado in a Leafs game again.

At this point it would be funny if they recalled Nielsen from the minors instead of playing Corrado.

If a leftie gets hurt that wouldn't be completely surprising.

He's pretty much the Leafs one and only hope in the system to not need to draft a top line defenseman at this point.  I hope they take it slow with him.

Valiev is coming along (albeit not top 4 material) according to some media I was listening to.

Instead of Corrado rusting away at #8, why not waive him, and if they need an emergency call up, use him or Valiev if Corrado doesn't clear? I thought that was the advantage to having the Marlies across the street?

Valiev shoots left. Like Loov, Nielsen, Dermott, Desrocher, Greenway, Middleton.
Our RHD in the pipeline are... Jesper Lindgren (Sweden minors), and Nicolas Mattinen (probably nothing). On the Marlies, we also have Justin Holl (not a prospect), Ty Stanton,  and William Wrenn.
