Eric Sogard has been traded to Tampa, no word yet on what the Jays got in return.

This should free up a spot for Bo Bichette on the Jays roster.

Return is two players to be named later, per TSN

I'll miss Stroman for his talent, but not for his outspoken personality. Both parts will play well in the Big Apple though.

Hopefully these "pitching prospects" from the Mets pan out!

It may be nothing but I'm a little suspicious of the fact that the trade was basically reported an hour ago and there's still nothing emerging about what the trade was beyond Stroman.

Also, the Mets being buyers doesn't make a ton of sense.

Huh. Well, that's two of their top pitching prospects anyway, not much in the way of top prospects list stuff.

Yeah. Not an overwhelming return, but two guys with solid MLB potential.

If that?s the entire return, it?s not great, but possibly not awful either.

The relationship between Stroman & management never mended:

Apparently the jays are sending cash as well. Which honestly seems funny to me.

Home is where the heart is, but a part reserved for T.O.:

Underwhelming return for Stroman?  Depends whom you ask:

?One executive called the Blue Jays? return of lefty Anthony Kay and righty Simeon Woods-Richardson for Stroman ?incredibly light.? Another said, ?It feels really odd to me that Toronto didn?t get a top-100 type at least and still did the deal with days to go.?

Another source claims that teams refused to ?overpay?.  The original rumoured bidders such as the Yankees obviously were unwilling to part with one of their top prospects in Daivi Garcia, whom the Jays were targeting as a potential return in this deal.

Toronto wasted little time in bargaining and wanted to get it over with, so the Mets were the deal makers.
