Jian Ghomeshi

The PR firm Navigator that Ghomeshi hired has dropped him

Navigator said ?the circumstances of our engagement have changed and we are no longer able to continue.?

I don't entirely follow. Are you saying that what bothers you is that people in our society turn a blind eye to domestic violence or that people tend to have a "what two consenting adults do in their bedroom is none of my business" attitude towards sex?

Here is a fund raising TV ad my company made less than a year ago for the Moncton women's shelter using only Moncton stats:

The startling stat I learned while working on the video was the huge amount of psychological and financial abuse happening that never leaves visible bruises.

I sold Trimedia in last June to focus more on audio and TV production.

Good article on what changed for CBC to get rid of him: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/behind-the-cbcs-decision-to-fire-ghomeshi/article21396998/

I'm still searching for a Halloween costume. I'm guessing Big Ears Teddybear should be crossed off the list?

My Bears are protesting the inference that one of their kind is involved in anything sordid. (not upset with you, Rick....they're upset with Ghomeshi.)

I say mash up real life and the movies and go with Blair Witch Big Ears Teddy facing into the corner of the room.

Lol, that's where my mind went as well. Hard to believe that was 1999.

In seriousness though, I'd bet a tidy sum that you are right on an earlier post -that a camera was hidden in there.

some other smooth talker will come along and take the money..Canada always produces the best interviewers?.the best was Brian Linehan?.hard to believe he has been dead 10 years.

I just have one thing to say: let's have less Jian Ghomeshis and more money for public schools.

Ghomeshi has hired a pretty good lawyer as per this article.

She is the same lawyer who defended David Frost, among others. Interesting quote from the article:

"As criminal lawyers we represent people who have committed heinous acts. Acts of violence. Acts of depravity. Acts of cruelty. Or as Jian Ghomeshi likes to call it, foreplay,? she joked to the crowd of some 450 lawyers, including judges of both the Ontario Court and Superior Courts of Justice.

Perhaps she once dated him and likes the rough stuff?look at her joke about Greenspan..
Can't believe she said that stuff.

I guess he's fully expecting charges to be laid since he's gone ahead and hired a lawyer.

I think she worked Bryant's case because, from what I remember, it was reasonable to suggest self-defense. Bryant was attacked, he tried to drive, the attacker continued to attack and met an unfortunate end. While kind of cold, it's a decent position and it worked.

I don't see a very strong defense of any of his ongoing actions. I mean, as Lionel Hutz says, it sounds like they have a paper trail a mile long on Ghomeshi. I don't think there's any way he gets cleared of everything that's been brought against him.

The reason he might get off is, unfortunately, a lack of hard evidence (at least, as far as we know - who knows what might be stashed somewhere). Right now, it seems like too much of a "he said, she said" situation to lead to a conviction - even though, at this point, I think most rational people are convinced he's guilty of something.
