Kings @ Leafs - Dec. 11th, 7:30pm - TSN, TSN 1050

reporterchris: It looks like Morgan Rielly will sit out a fourth straight game for the #leafs.

6th time in the last 8 games.

Minnesota just announced that they are loaning Dumba to the WJC. Hopefully the Leafs follow suit but I don't see it happening.

I am 100% convinced they will now loan him.

I have my doubts as well, but, based on Hope Smoke's tweets, Dreger seems to imply that Nonis is very unhappy with the way Carlyle is treating Rielly right now. There seems to be a few disconnects between the coach and the front office right now.

Going to the game.  Box seats.

Kind of a big deal.

You guys need me to talk to Nonis about anything?

Plus every player on the team played at least 10:00 - spread the ice-time around.  They won't be tired.

Wait. You can do that? Are you sure that's legal?
L.A.'s Colin Fraser has averaged just under 9 minutes a game.  The Leafs have 7 players with less.  If you're not perfect, you're in the doghouse.  This is the NHL, not a development league.  Randy Carlyle might not be the right coach for this club.

Once you keep a junior player up and burn the year,  you have bought yourself an error prone season.  You have to accept that play because it is furthering his development.  Having him sit on the bench this much is asinine given the garbage play from guys like Fraser this year.
I'm not surprised all that much though.  Carlyle doesn't seem to have the best track record for bringing along softer skilled youth.

Guys like Kadri/Perry/Getzlaf seem to do fine but Ryan, Lupul etc a lot less so.

I'm shocked that Scrivens isn't starting.  I realize the other guy has 2 straight shutouts, but on a back to back game and Scrivens up against his former team?  Weird.

Hey Carlton, you got your forward lineup wish, with the exception of one player.

It's from the Kings dressing room.

Oh, okay.  Because if that's how Carlyle spells Rielly's name, it says all that we need to know about what he thinks of him since he can't even spell his name properly. haha

All they really burn if they send him down is a year of the contract. It sucks, but, it's not the end of the world. If they send him back before he hits the 40 game mark, this season won't count as a year towards his UFA status, which, with the way he's being used, is something worth saving.

Only four forwards played more than 16:00. And that includes Dustin Brown at 16:01.
