I was only kidding about all those shutouts and yet..it's not far off.

That's pretty ugly, combine it with the previous games and its really ugly.

2 regulation wins in a calendar month.

Sorry about the delay, don't have the work-day freedom I used to have.  I feel shame.

The problem now is we're coming up against a couple of wobbly teams in Philly, NJ and Edmonton again, which could all go either way, with a couple of other crappy teams down there.

Come on trade deadline, hurry up! We need to do some bonafide tanking!

If we are lucky Philly will play us with as much gusto as they did playing Pitts. The next ten games, I see two wins only. Against Edmonton and the Canes.

I think they have a shot at the oilers/devils/canes and philly.

Don't get me wrong, I hope with every fiber of my being that they lose 10 straight.

Holy those last 2 chunks were brutal.  4-15-1 in the last 20 games.  Admittedly I've lost much interest, haven't watched a game in a few weeks, amazing how the Leafs can totally alienate a long time fan.  I don't see much hope on the horizon for the next 2-3 seasons at least.  This has been the rebuild of forever.

The crazy thing about the stretch under Horachek - has a team dominated the Leafs in those losses?  Maybe Anaheim?  St. Louis?  Other than that the games have basically all been tight games in terms of the play on the ice.

These loses are because of the adjustment, (or rather the lack of being able to make the adjustment) to the style they are being asked to play under Horachuck.

They just seem unable to get both their defensive and offensive game going at the same time. Tough to say that time is the answer to this problem. Will another coaching change fix it? A new GM?

I think the only real solution is to start changing up the player personnel. They need better two way players. Way too many offense-first type players on this roster, including the defensemen. Trading for a guy like Ryan O'Reilly would be a good start.

This is from Bruce Garrioch today, so take it with a grain of salt.  Found on spectorshockey.net rumour section:

"The asking price for Colorado Avalanche forward Ryan O?Reilly is rumored to be ?two blue-chip prospects along with a top young player and a No. 1 pick.?"
http://www.ottawasun.com/2015/01/31/arizona-coyotes-are-open-for-business-but-opposing-gms-wont-find-many-bargains

If that's the case, I hope the Avs enjoy losing him for nothing at the end of his contract.  It's an insane price for a 2C who may only be with your team for a year or two.

Either way, an offer starts with the Leaf's first (top 7??), Jake Gardiner, Nylander and Brown perhaps?  Sign me up!  :P

ROR is a 'top young player' I'd say - so they'd want a similar player (with a better contract no doubt) as well as potentially 3 other players equal or better than ROR for ROR and his already poor contract relative to his age.
