Leafs acquire Steckel from NJ

Probably 06-07 where the Leafs ranked 5th in the league in FO%. In fact, from 01-02 to 06-07 the Leafs were in the top 10 every year.
 
Just some usless info regading the 2001 draft as it relates to the Leafs;

We know boast 3 first rounders from that draft... Komisarek (#7 overall), Armstrong (#21 overall), and Steckel (#30 overall.)
 
Seems to be well worth the 4th round pick to date... Face-off, defensive stuff aside, I just noticed that along with his 7 goals, he as 0 assists... What a hog  :)

Zero assists since leaving Washington (56 games).  I think it has more to do with his linemates for most of the year being Dupuis (0 goals), Rosehill (0 goals), Orr (1 goal), Brown (1 goal), Boyce (1 goal).  That's 3 goals in 77 combined games from the other 4th line players on the team.  Hard to pick up assists when your linemates all have stone hands.

That's not to say that Steckel has great passing abilities.  He's a 4th line centre who can get additional ice time because of penalty killing and late-game defensive face-offs.  Pretty cool that we might get 10-15 goals out of our #4 center though.
