Leafs @ Flyers - Oct. 2nd, 7:30pm - TSN, TSN 1050

Sorry James. Unless you play because you have a great record against Ottawa, Bernier deserves the next start.

Good thing he does:

8-1-1, 1.69 GAA, .949 Sv% and 3 shutouts in 10 career starts against the sens.

Bozak: 32-23 on the draw in two road games to start the season. Which, in addition to being a good percentage, seems like a lot.

Yikes. I knew he had a good record but wow!

Hopefully after spoiling home openers for Habs and Flyers, the Leafs handle their own home opener.
But what a way to start the season. I did expect 2 pts. from Montreal, but 2 points here are very nice.

I think it's partly inflated because he always takes the first draw on the PK before switching with Kule and the Leafs have obviously been extremely shorthanded over these first two games. Kudos to him for the great start on the draw this season though.

The winning percentage is the most important thing though.

we looked like a tired team ..but philly will have one more day of having to answer questions about scoring five on five..and the leafs start the season 2-0 ..i'm of course happy..but i do hope we look a little more....deserving on Saturday.

The rope-a-dope approach doesn't work for every game.

Can't believe we walked away from that with 2 points.  My hope going in was that the Leafs survive the first two periods, and hopefully the Flyers would also be fairly worn out in the third; seems to have worked out that way.

Bernier made it look easy - or at least a hell of a lot easier than it I'm sure it was.

Worried about Gardiner, though; he only played 14 mins and the team won without him.  It's early yet, but this is starting to smell like Grabovski all over again.

Also, can anyone explain these 3-stars selections?:

i'd say someone messed up and put bodie in instead of bolland ..the damn BO problem

They have Bodie as the number one star? Bodie???  Pass it over to me whatever it is they're smoking in Philly these days.

Dreger.
"Steve Bernier" announced as a star by arena announcer in Philly. Hmmmm.

Yeah. Pass it over.

Yeah, I'm sure they meant to click Bolland.  But still, I'd have it Bernier > Bolland > and either Schenn or Lupul or something.

Go home, NHL.com, you're drunk.

Sure, which he scored on the power play. It's nice having a third line centre who can step up when he gets the opportunities.

Is there a limit to your absolute rank hypocrisy or are we just going to continue to plumb new depths as the season rolls along?

Grabovski with 3 points now.

He thinks he's playing the Habs?

Pretty sure he's pretending to play against the Leafs nowadays.

Weird what giving him some offensive minutes does.

Ah, so moving our goal posts, I see. Well... Looks like the first unit to me?

I'm really not seeing what point you're trying to make here.
