Leafs hire Kyle Dubas as assistant GM, Loiselle and Poulin Dismissed

I don't know if it merits its own thread or not, but according to James Mirtle (@mirtle) via Twitter:

Hearing the Leafs will add Wes Clark to their hockey ops team. He's currently director of player development for the Soo Greyhounds.

Clark has worked training elite hockey players for a long time, including John Tavares. Will likely help Leafs develop their picks.

Here's some links on him:

I am honestly surprised that it took this long.

Can his friendship with Tavares help to lure John to Toronto? Wishful thinking, huh?

I've never been clear on this but once an NHL team drafts a player, how much contact are they allowed with the player during the season?

I'm not sure there's really a limit. Once a player is drafted, he's basically a member of your organization, which means there's no real limits on what kind of hockey related conversations you can have with him. There may be more of an issue with guys who are under contract in European leagues or guys in the NCAA.

I was just thinking in terms of one-on-one coaching/training but I would imagine there is an unwritten limit to not step on the toes of the junior organizations.

As I'm from the Soo, I've already got my bags packed, just waiting for Dubas' call to hire me.
In a related note, Carlton the Bear has been fired and replaced with the Soo Greyhounds mascot, Dash.  Apparently his mascot analytics such as chuckles/minute were off the charts.

Yeah. I imagine it's more of an understanding rather than a strictly contracted limit.
