Here is my drunk rant. Whether or not you want to read into this I blame Bernier for both loses. Yes he may of got the team to OT, but he is brutally awful in the shot out. Frankly I don't care what any one else thinks cause this is my opinion. thanks you

You may not care, but you're very wrong. The rest of the team is the reason they lost tonight. Bernier was under siege in the 2nd, and he's the only reason the Leafs even managed a single point tonight. When a team allows 40+ shots and your goalie only allows 1 goal, but they still lose, there are 18 players who deserve the blame and one that doesn't.

Yea what he said! Seriously, anyone blaming Bernier for this loss should consider never following hockey again. What an embarrassing comment.

You know who I blame? They guy who made 42 saves and let in one goal. LOL. God, no wonder people hate Leaf fans...

Reimer was horrible in shootouts last year but apparently worked hard on improving that aspect of his game in the offseason, perhaps Bernier could use some pointers from Reims

It's more likely that it's just a small sample-size crapshoot.

Reimer has been noticeably more aggressive in shootouts this year, meaning he actually gets well out beyond the paint whereas previously his rear stayed pretty much at the crossbar.

We all agree that the biggest of Reimer?s limitations has been his rebound control. Reimer is a reflex guy, which favours him in the shootouts as there is no need to worry about rebounds.  Bernier is far more a positional guy.

Well put. That is why they really should play Reimer in ALL shoot outs. Why the hell not?

Are they allowed to do that?

Yeah, they are. As long as he's dressed, Reimer can go in for the shootout. Teams don't do that kind of thing because they don't want a goalie going into the shootout cold and having been sitting on the bench since the game started. It's basically asking for a pulled muscle.

What's Reimer's career record in the shootout. I saw it the other night but forgot.

6-9 so far, with 17 goals against in 52 attempts. This season, though, he's 3-0, with 2 goals against in 9 attempts.

Leafs did it with CuJo that one time.

Did he not come in in the third (or even in OT) and pulled off a string of saves to get to the shootout in the first place?

Nope, in cold for the shootout.
