Nice. Add Gardiner, Frattin & Crabb?? and this Marlies team should be smokin' going into the playoffs!

As I see it:

Gardiner will replace Aulie to provide the backend with better puck movement

Ashton (20 AHL goals) is added to the Marlies (from Aulie deal)

Frattin 12 goals in 21 AHL games is added to the Marlies.

And maybe Abbott helps.

The Marlies seem to have good AHL goaltending, PK and D. What they need is more offence and a better PP. The above guys should help their cause.

I think Crabb is ineligible as he didn't get sent down (waived) to be added to their clear day roster (which is too bad because he and Colborne seemed to have something going)

He'll be 24 next month... and according to hockeydb he's 5'9 so that means he's really 5'7.

hockeydb doesn't seen to update that kind of stuff once it's been entered initially. According to his "official" bio, he's actually 5'10".

So, he's a player that will grow on you?

Nice. Hopefully they get Schultz signed up too and Burke gets a shot at some acceleration...

That Alex Tran article had Schultz as an 8-10 pick if he was drafted this year ( I can't really say one way or the other ), wonder where Abbott would rank in a similar kind of comparison?

If they can pick up Schultz, it should be a pretty crowded blue line next year at camp.  I'm really hoping a couple of guys like Holzer and Blacker can step up next season and help turn the D around.

Maybe, just maybe we could move a Dman (likely as part of a package unless it was Schenn) to Edmonton or some other team that need blueline help and has a reasonably high 1st rounder.

AndyBaggotWSJ: Could Justin Schultz return for his senior season at Wisconsin? "There's still a chance," he said. It's all tied to a possible NHL lockout.
