So if Martin St. Louis and Mark Bell were available we should just immediately sign Mark Bell instead because we want bigger forwards?  We should forfeit every single player under 6'1 simply because we want to get bigger while completeling ignoring the skill factor?

You can't help some fans for being a bit underwhelmed given the current state of the Leafs.  We get a guy from college in the midst of a terrible finish to the season and the reaction is "great another college bust upcoming".  Had the Leafs been in a playoff position I'm sure the reaction would have been something like "great, another asset for nothing, Leafs success is attracting potential talent!"

We've got plenty of smurfs/waterbugs/non-physical players. We need some forwards with size/grit. That's what discouraged me.

Having said that, signing the top scorer in the NCAA and a Hobey Baker top 3 finalist isn't terrible either.

I know what you mean, I had a "meh" reaction upon hearing this news.  I'm past the time where I drool over "potential" in players that we have signed or are playing in the minors.  I just want to see results on the big club.  We might have the greatest farm team we've ever had (I really don't know), but until I see that translate into the Leafs having a great team, I don't care.

In regards to Dan DeKeyser, I'm fairly sure he's actually going back to school.

The other two I'm not too sure about, but Zengerle should be coming to the NHL soon...at least that's what I've heard.

Um, no motive to 'lie' doesn't mean there isn't a plethora of alternative reason as to why that pov is off base. Not saying you shouldn't take your buddy seriously or anything but honestly, even if it was true ( y'know, that it was that Abbott and the story had merit ), what does it matter now?

"Robbed" might be pushing it as they had very close stats, although at a quick glance it would look like Connolly played in a more offensive league. Regardless, Abbott finished 2nd which is still quite the accomplishment.
