Mikael Grabovski

After several unproductive games (with very few chances, if SoG are any indication), Grabo was dropped to the third line and off the first power play. Washington then wins with contributions from its new second line.

Not looking good for Team Grabo.

If Grabovski's been taken off their first PP unit then that's bad news for him. That was where he was likely to rack up most of his points.

It's one game, just like his first game was.  He hasn't been playing well (from a stats perspective, I haven't watched Caps games), but will need to see how the season plays out.  Oates played Ovechkin with Joey Crabb and Beagle for stretches before, so I'm not looking too much into a switch yet.

Joey Crabb also played with Kessel for a while.  For a minor leaguer, how does he get playing time with the NHL's star players?

Wow.

Has his 6th of the season tonight and it's his 100th career goal.

EDIT: Now giving it to Joel Ward.  3 assists on the night for Grabovski instead now.  Still on 99 career goals.

Point-per-game on the season so far and leading his team in +/- quite handily. Eight even-strength points and five on the power play. Definitely earning his $3M.

I'm happy for him.

Has equaled his point total from last season in game 19.

EDIT: And just tied the game with career goal number 100.

So that makes it (82 game adjusted seasons) since his trade from the Canadiens.
50, 48, 59, 56, 27, 73

Just because I'm ornery and waiting for an ER shift to start:

Bozak
60, 32, 53, 50, 45

Clarkson
32, 43, 18, 47, 41 ,12

Lecavalier
71, 70, 68, 63 ,67, 55

Cue the "woulda never happened here" record.

Was watching the Capitals broadcast. They said the Chimera-Grabo-Ward line was the team's top 5 on 5 line. Not sure if that was referring to just this game or more.

Someone mentioned on Twitter that Grabovski is still playing on a line getting the tough assignments, he's just getting the bounces this season.

When Wilson was here, he also tapped Grabbo against the toughest competition and Grabbo did well.

And if you were feeling really ornery, you could see which recently acquired or re-signed Leafs would need to be combined in order to match or exceed Grabovski's point totals.

I will send you a $10 Tim Horton's gift card and eat the envelope if Grabovski finishes this year with 73 points.

Edit: and I'll toss in a breakfast sandwich if Clarkson finishes with 12.

What do I win if Clarkson and Bozak together don't outscore Grabovski?

My hope and optimism, yours for eternity.

Much tastier than a Tim Horton's sandwich, that.
