Thats just a sign to me that red wings' legendary depth is starting to dwindle.

That's pretty much how I see it, too. They must need some AHL depth that can fill in as spot duty in case of injuries.

Me three, I wasn't all that impressed with their almost full team on Friday night. Helm is probably the best youngish player in their system/ team.

Former Habs great David Aebischer has signed with the George Street Bullies.

Is it a 2 way deal with the Jets/IceCaps or an AHL only contract?

Looks like AHL only

Goalie David Aebischer, 33, also practised with the Jets on Tuesday but will be on his way to the AHL's St. John's IceCaps shortly.

He signed an AHL contract on Monday instead of returning to Lugano of the Swiss league for a fourth full-time season.

TSNBobMcKenzie: Ducks acquire Kyle Cumiskey from Colorado in exchange for Jake Newton and seventh-round draft pick in 2013.

icemancometh: Cumiskey will need to take a physical on Monday. Seventh-rounder in 2013 turns into 2012 fifth-rounder if he plays 45 or more games w/Ducks.

Ex-Sabres captain Rivet signs in ECHL

Surprised me. Can't recall an established NHLer finishing his career in the ECHL. Might be a stepping stone to coaching.

So long as his wife isn't named Francine he should be ok...

So the Stars pick up Nystrom from the Wild in a trade for "future considerations" - they could have picked him up for nothing at half-price the other day on re-entry waivers, but they needed his full cap-hit of $1.4M to make sure they reached the cap floor after Avery's cap-hit came off their books when the Rags sent him down.

Dominoes....

Filatov sent to Binghamton. I'm surprised he didn't get more of a fair shake, but at the same time if you can't crack Ottawa's top 6 then you're in trouble.

As of right now he's a pretty similar player to Turris. Allows them to be able to hold out for much longer.

I wonder if this goes past Dec 1. While Turris can't play in the NHL past that date, I think he's feel to play anywhere else.

I'm not BS'ing here but a friend of mine knows Kyle and Kyle has said to him that this situation is a result of his agent's advice and he anticipates signing by the Nov 30 deadline.

My comment was that Kyle should take control back from the agent and sign for a 1-2 year deal and then get his dough but if the trade is what is
wanted all along then I guess the term does not matter. The agent should know his business a lot better re: leverage!

Maloney called Turris right after he closed the O'Reilly deal - "That's how easily we replaced you."
