I've decided to be optimistic today.
Let?s hope it?s soon. I purchased a $350 Mitch Marner framed photo and it?s still sitting in the box it shipped in in my basement . Not taking it out and hanging it up until he signs.

The article that you linked to states that Stamkos makes about $1.5M annually (in 2017). That's significant.
I didn't link anything??
Absolutely see ya. Said it before. The only way he gets close to 11 is by signing an 8 year deal.CarltonTheBear said:https://twitter.com/Account4hockey/status/1143575912660766720
If true... and I'm doubtful about that... bye Mitch.
When you're up against the cap it makes a huge difference. All things being equal and say the Leafs are 1.5 over means a roster player making that over an ELC would have to go. In the Leafs case, Hyman would have to go because Brown's contract wouldn't cover it. If not that route, then you trade a Kappy, Johnsson, Kadri which in turn makes your team weaker. So while it can be done, generally GMs don't look to make their teams weaker.Nik the Trik said:As always I'm pretty skeptical about that until I see it but it does sort of fit in with the idea that once you're willing to cross the line of making that offer sheet worth 4 firsts, the idea that the difference between, say, 11.5 over 5 and 13 over 5 would stop you doesn't really make sense. Even with the Leafs, if Marner makes sense at 11.5, it's really hard to think of what the extra 1.5 million could get you that switches things.

If we're right up against the cap, it doesn't because the difference isn't 1.5 million between the 2. You'll still need to find around 325K.Bullfrog said:It gets you Ilya Mikheyev instead of Connor Brown. Which, I'm guessing most of us are OK with despite not knowing a thing about Mikheyev.

Haha. Too funny. I'll say one thing, this is getting entertaining. Does anyone really believe someone is going to pay him more then McDavid?Bullfrog said:CarltonTheBear said:If true... and I'm doubtful about that... bye Mitch.
