Ottawa, Binghamton and St. John's all kick off their seasons tonight.  I love hockey.

Are you going to the St. John's game? I'm curious as to what/if they do any kind of Baby Leafs ceremony.

Nope, it's in Providence.  Single game tickets go on sale tomorrow, so I'm gonna buy a couple to the Binghamton games in February.  Then I'll see how it goes.  Don't really know the AHL well enough yet to know who I want to see.

Anderson looking good so far.

You want tickets to see the Connecticut Whale and Redden, I know it.

The Red Wings first goal tonight is a must-see. I honestly think Sergei Gonchar may have announced his retirement mid-play.

Sergei Gonchar's effort on Detroit's first goal last night would have got him benched in the ECHL. Yikes

The Leafs suck.

So do the Sens, right now, but I'm looking forward to this season.  Filatov, Da Costa, Greening, Butler, Zibanejad, Smith and Condra have all shown promise, and I'm excited about what they could develop into.  I'm not booking my playoff tickets, though.

Ottawa has three big problems, as I see it. The Canadian dollar is going to start declining in value, the team's ticket sales are going to crater because they're clearly re-building, and Murray is, well, greasy. Listen, Quebec City is building an NHL arena and I bet its because they're getting Melnyk's franchise.

You realize how little sense that makes right?

Sense? You've written some posts that I've enjoyed, SP, but may I remind you that you're a big time Sens fan posting about a thousand times a year on a Leaf's fan site. Please tell me where I let you down in my post above.

The declining CDN dollar will make Melnyk move Ottawa to another CDN city...and speaking of posting a thousand times a year...ANY WORD ON OUR POSTS STATS YET?!?!!!

That didn't take long

Spent game one on a scoring line, recorded an assist.

Spent game two on the 4th line, did nothing.

Will be spending game three in the pressbox.

Don't like this decision.  The Sens aren't contending, with our without Filatov, we're going to lose a ton of games.  Now is the time to give the younger players some extra rope.

No Butler, Filatov, or Lee tonight...Anderson starts.

    Greening-Spezza-Zibanejad
    Michalek-Da Costa-Alfredsson
    Foligno-Regin-Neil
    Smith-Konopka-Condra

    Cowen-Gonchar
    Kuba-Karlsson
    Phillips-Rundblad

I'm going to this one!

0 first period goals.
1 second period goal.
10 third period goals.
3 for 3 in the shootout.

Someone tell MacLean that he should give his second intermission speech before the game starts.

Great job by the organization in recognizing / honoring players of the '92 Sens.

Another dodgy 1st but no collapse in the 2nd. 3 for 3 in terms of entertainment value though - great game.
The Alfie / Da Costa / Michalek line & the Neil / Foligno / Regin line were lights out. This Da Costa kid looks like a gem.

Somewhat related - Heatley sure has lost a step.
