Penguins @ Leafs - Oct. 18th, 7:00pm - TSN4, TSN 1050

The truncated power play was the only one the Leafs got. The extra 6 minutes in power play time that the Leafs should have got would have probably made a big difference. Pittsburgh came to play and only managed one, non-empty net goal.

Was a shit game all around. Moving on.

And it wasn't even a full PP. Hey the Leafs played like crap and were outplayed for the most part, basically lost 1-0 on a lucky, found the hole goal that Freddie usually stops 99 out of 100 times. The sky isn't falling. On to the next.

I?ve never understood that part of ruling.  How can you intend to do something and call that an actua play.  If I intend to stop at a stop sign but don?t, I still blew the stop sign.

I get it when we're talking about a tiny fraction of a second - like, the whistle is basically in the ref's mouth, but he hasn't been able to use it. But, when there's a noticeable lag between the two - like, more than enough for the ref to have acted - then, I agree. It's dumb.

Officiating wasn't great overall last night. They really only made one penalty call that was a judgement call. Not the reason the Leafs' lost, but it is super annoying. There were sequences where it felt like a higher speed version of the clutch-and-grab days.
