Predators vs. Maple Leafs - Mar. 22nd. 7:00pm - SN, TSN 1050

I will point out though that Utah is a better team than Nashville and have a shot still at making the playoffs. preds have been done since November.
And they still have pts in over half their games. Nashville has won against some good teams this season.
Col X2...5-2, 2-1
Wpg X2... 4-1, 2-1,
Dallas 4-1
Wild 6-2
Vegas 5-3
Kings 3-2
Canes 5-2

Very good teams lose to "bad" teams all the time. I've said it many times here. There are no easy wins in the NHL. Your game drops or you give up easy goals and you will likely lose.

All true, and this is a message board with people reacting live to the game they are watching, so you're getting raw, emotional reactions sometimes. Obviously sometimes people take it too far or are way too reactive but sometimes you have to let people vent.

Yessir. That's why we're called "fans," short for "fanatical impulsive humanoid volcanoes."

Any team can beat another team in the NHL. Very good teams lose to bad teams all the time. True.

But winners win when it matters and for Nashville the game didn't matter from a playoff perspective, and for the Leafs it mattered to the point it may influence whether they get to the second round based their opponent, and home ice in the first round. Winning teams are in "playoff mode".

Leafs were two goals up. At intermission they found out that both Florida teams lost and now they had a chance to take first. And they 100% froze and there were 5 unanswered goals. It wasn't like Tampa last night or Canadiens who both fought to the end and made it close. Or even Florida which is missing three top players. It was a total 100% collapse after the first period right after the window to take first in the Atlantic opened.

It's "nice" to be an apologist for the team.

But it's also acceptable to call out the patterns. What happened last night is a very Leafy and familiar pattern of losing games that matter. It's not a game in November or January like the games you listed. We are in the final stretch of the races for playoff positions.
