What are the Leafs playing for? Nothing. Detroit is playing for their playoff lives. Try to get Matthews a goal or two and move on.
 
I only watched to see if Matthews could score.

Meaning that they are cheating a bit when Matthews is on and it trickles down to the team defense in general.Ā  And, compounding that, Bieksa pretty much had it right, when the other team is fighting for its life and you aren't, the easiest place to get loose is on defense.Ā 
 
Woll should have been given more games after his return from injury. I'd like to be wrong, but again Samsonov looks rattled.His confidence still seems so fragile.
 
I like Sammy. Seems like a really nice guy.
But for a long time, he just does not strike me as someone who is going take them very deep in the playoffs.
I thought Woll was the better goalie last year. This year too until he got hurt. Haven't seen that since he got hurt ...

This might be a blessing - at the very least, might shorten the leash before someone else gets a shot. OTOH, maybe none of their goalies are good enough.

The only guys cheating would be his linemates. The other lines should be fine...they're not. Leafs have nothing to play for so like last game, not a big deal really.

They need to leave him in. Pulling him may hurt his confidence more.
