Rookie Tournament

Today, Joe Veleno is about 19.75 years old. Today, Nick Robertson turned 18. 24.25 years ago, Kivihalme was born in Cloquet, Minnesota where his father Janne was playing for the University of Wisconsin-Superior alongside Nick Mulvey, who ended up becoming the Assistant Coach at Burnsville High, coaching, you guessed it, Teemu Kivihalme from 2011 to 2013. - Pierre Maguire, probably.

You know I was actually pretty surprised to learn that Kivihalme was born in the US. Just looked at his profile the other day and saw that. Not sure if he spent his entire childhood in North America but he did play high school/junior/college hockey all in the States. I really don't recall hearing much about that when he was signed. So if he's got NHL chops at least he won't have to deal with any issues other players coming from overseas might run into.

I heard about it when he was rumoured to be signing. His dad was the head coach in high school so he got the 'C' and probably top minutes all the way through until pro. He didn't play in Europe until he was in his 20s. Liiga plays on NHL sized rinks anyway.

Draft pick of the Preds in 2013 (the Seth Jones year). I think he's better than Harpur (easily) and definitely better offensively and transitionally than Marincin but I'm uncertain of his PK.
