Even his positioning.  He's making himself so small in the net because he doesn't have his positioning and. Angles.  This might be an ugly night if the Leafs don't control the play
 
He lets in a goal like that and the whole team deflates.  Let's see how he responds.  He's given up baddies early before and then pulled himself together.

Not really confident that he can, mind you.

Told you guys before it was no different last year. His positioning is horrible and all over the place. I have no idea what goalie coaches do but you think they could work on his movements and try to get him to play calmer. If it can't be fixed ship him off.
 
That last angle that showed the puck go clean through his legs and into the net was incredible. 

Regardless of Cups and playoff success I can't wait to tell my kids about the good old day of Matthews 75 goal season

Enjoy this guy while he plays...hes something special.
 
I?ve said it before, and often caveats it or qualified it, but I?m dropping all those now and calling it. Matthews is the best Leaf I?ve ever seen.
