Sabres vs. Maple Leafs - Dec. 21st, 7:00pm - SN, Fan 590

Bad giveaway but you can't have every flipping mistake ends up in your own net.  Samsonov is not an NHL goaltender right now

Just like the Columbus game leave Samsonov in too long so there's no possible chance of winning. Pull him now. This is ridiculous

What are they going to do, though?  Run with Jones & Hildeby?  Samsonov needs to get his act together, period.

His positioning is atrocious.  Another play where we are lucky that wasn't in the net.  Spinning around in the crease off balance.  A wild goaltender who plays small is not what this team can have in net.

Long term yeah that's a poor option but playing a guy who can't stop a beach ball doesn't help the team and it's clearly not helping Samsonov either

I have no doubt that if they waived him he'd clear and could go down.  But that's basically asking Jones to turn the clock back a few years.

I think we?d have better luck tying him to the posts like Goldberg.

I mean, what we are really looking as hopinghopinghoping Woll can (1) stay healthy and (2) be the next Binnington.  That's how shaky this whole goaltending thing is.

Yes, Jones and Hildeby is literally a better option right now

Yep we eluded on that the other day. No use rushing Hildeby. Hopefully hold the fort until Woll is back or see if you can make a trade. I posted the other day LA was looking for help in goal. Not sure if they would be interested. Or once Woll is back get rid of him either minors, waivers anything but on the bench with the big club.

A few? 2017/18 was the last time he was over 900SV%

Kypreos hopefully is right he doesn't start the second. Keefe cost them possibly against Columbus waiting too long with Sammy hopefully tonight he doesn't make the same mistake. Rather lose it with Jones than seeing this crap in net.

But what's the theory here?  That LA would say to themselves, "Yeah, with a change of scenery he could bounce back."  Seems pretty far-fetched.

No kidding. LA doesnt want him. They also have Talbot who's playing very well.  Hes getting in Campbell terrain now.
